The Old Globe in San Diego’s beautiful Balboa Park is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Philanthropy. This position will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward Globe Circle Patron donors up to $5,000 and oversee the management of the Friends of The Old Globe (donors under $3,000).
The Tony Award-winning Old Globe is a recognized leader among American regional theatres and is known for producing a broad range of work from Shakespeare and the classical repertoire to world premiere musicals and plays as well as its nationally recognized arts engagement programs.
Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy and as an integral member of a highly collaborative team, the Assistant Director of Philanthropy will enjoy working in an environment with a highly personalized approach to donor relationships. The Assistant Director of Philanthropy will be donor-centered, impact-focused, personally engaging, and creative. They will enjoy being part of a fast-paced environment where planning and flexibility go hand-in-hand. They will be committed to the Globe’s mission and vision of service to the public good and will help the Globe develop philanthropy among new and diverse donors. We seek a motivated, positive, and engaging individual with experience in fundraising, sales, community organizing, or nonprofit management. The successful candidate will be an outstanding verbal and written communicator, be highly organized, an adaptive thinker, and enjoy creating genuine and warm relationships with donors of all giving levels.
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for business use. Full-time position with benefits including 401(k).
