From its modest beginning over 30 years ago, the North Coast Repertory Theatre, a non-profit organization, has evolved into one of the area’s leading performing arts organizations, recognized for the quality of its work and its commitment to excellence. Located in Solana Beach, in the heart of San Diego’s Coastal North County, the theatre boasts an award-winning Mainstage season, with performances year-round to over 40,000 people in its intimate 194-seat setting. In addition, the theatre involves thousands of young people each year in the Theatre School @ North Coast Rep’s education and outreach programs.

The Associate Production Manager supports the Production Department and works closely with the Production Manager to ensure the successful execution of world-class theatrical productions.
Support the Production Manager and Technical Director in setup, maintenance, and operation of all technical aspects of the theater, including building maintenance as needed.
Create technical elements and stage manage Variety Night events in coordination with Production Manager.
Provide technical support and design for Theatre School Productions as needed.
Ensure that rehearsal and theatre spaces are clean and safe for any rehearsals or performances.
Hang, circuit, and patch lights for mainstage productions.
Prepare theatre for technical rehearsals, including setting up tech table, hanging and patching lights, preparing any sound or projection equipment needed.
Be available as an emergency or short-term crew substitute.
Provide advice on the design of capital improvements and theatrical equipment upgrades as needed.
Meet COVID related production needs.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
A basic understanding of theatrical lighting and special effects, sound, projection, scenic carpentry.
Capacity to solve problems and engage in creative thinking about challenges.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with designers, producers, directors and production staff with a full understanding of the artistic process.
Must have a sense of balance with ability to work on ladders.
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and diplomacy skills.
Ability to multitask and work effectively while managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
Ability to work a varying schedule, including nights and weekends.
Must comply with the COVID policy requiring on-site staff to be fully vaccinated.
This full time non-exempt position will receive compensation of $35,000-45,000 per year plus benefits, including paid vacation, employer sponsored health insurance, employee-paid dental and vision insurance, and participation in 403b plans.
