The Old Globe seeks a full-time Institutional Giving Associate for this renowned theatre in San Diego’s beautiful Balboa Park. Working with the Institutional Giving Manager, this position will assist with all foundation, corporate, and government fundraising activities, including research, cultivation, proposal development, writing, reporting, invoicing, and other stewardship activities.

Primary responsibilities include assisting in researching and identifying requirements for public and private grant agencies, foundations, family foundations, and corporations to identify potential sources of funding for specific projects and/or ongoing operational support; providing writing and editing support and assembling information for proposals and reports as assigned; serving as the grant lead and writer of applications for most government grants as well as any foundation grants under $15,000; and assisting with other grant applications, reporting needs, communication, and related administrative tasks as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional writer with two years of grant writing, fundraising, or related administrative experience in a nonprofit organization, or other relevant writing experience. Successful candidates will also be excellent communicators, highly organized and detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced and creative environment where both planning and flexibility are valued. The person selected will be positive, proactive, and understand and convey the value of theatre in our community. Hourly pay range is $25.00-$27.59 per hour depending on experience. This is a full-time position with benefits including 401(k) after first year employment. Must be able to pass applicable background check. Multilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
